Golden Systems Electronics, a major distributor of IT components to Iran, is reporting strong sales of Via processors and chipsets in the country. Masoud Jalilian, manager of Golden, says demand has grown as the components markets both in Iran and the UAE accepts the brand.

“With the new 866MHz processors, customers are accepting the chips. Via has improved the quality and we have seen the demand grow with that,” Jalilian explained. “Dealers are asking for Via, we don’t have to push them to the channel anymore.”

Golden does most of its business in the Iranian market, where it supplies Via, Gigabyte, and Fujitsu and TEAC products. The company was exhibiting at a major IT exhibition in Tehran last week, which Jalilian says was a big succeess. Golden also has a permanent presence in Iran, with a major support network covering all regions for its reseller base.
