Juma Al Majid is hailing Gitex as one of the most successful ever. Whilst an on the door charge has deterred some visitors, it has enabled exhibitors to be more productive, says Syed Imran Hassan, assistant manager of Juma Al Majid, a distributor of scanners, photocopiers and other office equipment.

“Gitex is very important where the image building of the brand is concerned,” he said. “All the focused IT people come and they see what the most prestigious brands have to offer to the industry, so I feel it’s a good platform. This year specifically we don’t see much of the crowd, probably because of the tickets – you have to buy some tickets.

“We are getting more focused people, we are not getting any kind of the crowd that comes, takes the brochures and goes away. People are coming and they know what they’re looking for – they go to a specific product. That means we are doing less calls, but we see a lot of seriousness. It’s very productive.

“What we’re displaying on our stand is high volume printing machines from Konica. Our state of the art machines start from 20 pages per minute an it goes up to 150 prints per minute. We have launched two new products, one is the 7035, and can print 35 pages per minute. Secondly we have the 7045, a state of the art product.”
