Acer always takes us by surprise during Gitex, and this time, it really has done it again, with the announcement of the launch of the Aspire EL, a powerful and affordable PC designed for the home user.

“Acer has a sterling reputation for bringing best-of-breed computing technology to all users in the Middle East,” said Eric Tien, Acer Middle East’s managing director.

“The new generation Aspire EL delivers simplicity and power to the family’s digital experience. This new technology solves the family’s need for a powerful, yet affordable computer that can handle a host of graphics, multimedia, and Internet uses,” added Tien.

At the heart of the Aspire El is Intel’s new Pentium 4— the first to be available on a consumer PC in the Middle East. Acer has also leveraged Intel’s 845 chipset, tailor-made for the Pentium 4 to ensure maximum system stability.

Judging by the way in which Acer has delivered its promise on all past products, there is no reason to doubt that the Aspire EL is yet another premium product, able to produce spectacular graphics and crisp audio for a wide range of applications including Internet games, home movies, music, as well as PC-based multitasking applications.

The PC also has a range of other innovative features such as the GoTo drive, which is a swappable second disk drive that provides convenient backup of large files and easy importation of data from the user’s previous computer.

Another feature that is worth noting is the memory stick option that provides data exchange between an array of digital devices such as digital camcorders, cameras, and tape recorders. Enhanced 3D rendering provides advanced graphic artwork and unsurpassed realism for gaming enthusiasts. A built-in, broadband-ready Ethernet support and processing power also affords the ordinary consumer a user-friendly and affordable platform for using the Internet.

“No matter what the application, from high-end entertainment programs, to 3D graphics, or the latest in streaming media, the Aspire EL is equipped with necessary features that make it the multi-media center at home,” said Tien.
