Tally, the computer printer specialist, today announced the launch of a new line-matrix printer, the T6218, which, at 1800 lines per minute, is one of the fastest printers in its class.

“Tally is the market leader in line printing,” said Robin Edwards, managing director at Tally UK. “There is still no substitute for the high-speed, mass volume capabilities of a line printer, and users of these printers also appreciate the negligible cost of ownership.”

Line printers are mostly used for the printing of invoices, reports, shipping notes and packaging labels; Tally specialises in building robust workhorses for such chores. The T6218 is available for purchase now.

Tally was formed in 1996, bought-out from the German conglomerate Mannesmann; the sub-division had been manufacturing printers for more than 30 years, however.
