iPlanet will be represented with a vengeance at the Sun stand this year, joined by its local partners Navlink and Middle East Online (MEOL).

The regional distributors for iPlanet will demonstrate personalised Middle East Online, focusing in particular on the key issues of performance and security.

In the process, MEOL will announce no fewer than two new partnerships having confirmed its role as distribution partner for nCipher, a provider of enhanced security for electronic transactions, and Resonate, a provider of active service level management solutions for e-business applications.

As nCipher nAble Partner, based in Lebanon, MEOL will appoint accredited nSPs (nCipher Solutions Partners) to integrate nCipher products into complete turnkey Internet security systems.

“As iPlanet master distributor for the region we were looking for a solution to complement iPlanet in terms of information security, system scalability and transaction processing speed in e-business,” said Dolly Chammas, president of MEOL.

“nCipher’s interoperability with iPlanet and the combination of acceleration technology, hardware key protection and advanced key management software, make nCipher products the ideal solution. We have also developed an e-banking solution based on the iPlanet application server and nCipher has proven to be a perfect fit, providing added value for our customers.”

Resonate will also partner with MEOL to distribute Resonate Commander Solutions throughout the region, allowing enterprises to define service level objectives and monitor resulting performance.

“We are pleased to be partnering with MEOL, expanding the Resonate customer base and providing a critical component to MEOL’s product offering for e-businesses,” said Jean-François Guyomar, vp sales, EMEA at Resonate.

Hani Esber, business development manager, iPlanet MEA, is suitably optimistic: “Despite the current downturn, eBusiness will continue to grow. It’s critical for organisations to select an e-business platform that enables them to compete successfully in the Net Economy.”
