In order to help its Middle East resellers deliver additional customer services, such as consulting, integration, training and support, Veritas is re-launching its Vplus partner programme at Gitex.

Designed to create more revenue opportunities for its channel partners, while delivering its solutions to customers more effectively, the programme consists of three levels: select, premier and elite.

Select addresses Veritas partners that target small-to-medium workgroup solutions, premier on those that target mid-to-large enterprise solutions, and elite on those partners that focus on delivering Veritas' high-end solutions.

"The shortage of skilled staff and expertise is driving customers to vendors who can deliver value-add services in addition to products," says Mike Hynes, regional sales manager for Veritas Software Middle East.

Hynes believes that the Vplus programme differentiates partners from their competition as it creates specialised areas of focus that meet local customer needs.

"Across EMEA Veritas fulfils 70% of its business through its partners,” he says.

“Customers want to do business with a single source, and we work closely with our partners through Vplus to ensure that they have the tools, training and support to help deliver the industry's best storage software solutions," he adds.

Resellers that sign up for the Vplus programme at this year’s Gitex will also be eligible to attend a series of in-depth training initiatives — which will be hosted by representatives from Veritas’ UK office — starting with a three day technology series, on availability, Oracle database performance, and the business benefits of clustering and replication technologies.

In addition, resellers will also be able to catch up with two of Veritas' partners, STME and Elite, which will be on stand with the software company throughout the show.

"We are confident that sharing our stand with such supportive and dedicated partners will provide customers and resellers with an accurate impression of Veritas' strong channel, and our continued commitment to the Middle East market," says Hynes.
