Nixu, the Finnish network security and infrastructure company, is in the region to capitalise on the work they have done in Saudi Arabia. The company has been developing and maintaining the supernode project there and is negotiating significant new projects in the same field in the Middle East.

The company specialises in large Internet infrastructure projects, TCP/IP protocols and mobile Internet applications. For Internet and mobile communications the company provides configuration, mobility and security management and value-added services. The company also integrates mobile ISP platforms, develops Internet and security technology, and consults on network security.

With a turnover of 6.4 million euros the company made a profit of close to 800,000 euros in 2000. Customers include Barclays Bank, Ericsson and Hewlett-Packard. A new CEO was appointed in June and staff grew from 60 to 90 in the past year.
