Oracle Middle East will show the region's businesses how to 'make the complex simple' during Gitex as it aims to help organisations take the headache out of implementing the latest e-business technologies through its integrated suite of Internet-based solutions and technology platforms, such as Oracle 9i and Oracle 11i.

Ayman Abouseif, marketing director for Oracle Middle East and Africa, explains that, as far as Oracle is concerned, companies within the Middle East region have a simple choice to make when it comes to choosing a technology platform: "They can either spend their money, time and resources integrating, customising and maintaining complex IT systems, or they can focus all their capital and talent on becoming a market leader through e-business," he says.

The core of this philosophy is Oracle's 9i and 11i solutions, which the company will demonstrate at the show on its Oracle OpenWorld stand.

"We're creating a show within a show to educate attendees on every aspect of e-business, and the advantages that Internet-based technology and solutions are bringing to Oracle customers throughout the Middle East," explains Abouseif.

Decision-makers visiting Oracle OpenWorld at Gitex will receive one-on-one live demonstrations of these key e-business offerings. The Oracle team will be demonstrating a number of the 11i components, including the CRM, ERP, supply chain and Internet procurement modules, while those of a more technical bent will be given the opportunity to experiment with Oracle's 9i platform.

In addition to gaining an insight into the Oracle9i database, application server and development tools, the team will be showing attendees how to switch from SQL Server, Informix or Sybase databases to the Oracle offering.

Supporting the Oracle staff at the Gitex version of Oracle Open World will be more than 30 of the company's local alliance partners, which, between them, offer Oracle-based solutions for a number of industries, incudling banking & finance, telecoms, and education.
