Ricoh is showcasing its complete range of scanners and copiers at Gitex. The stand features some important developments that could make office life a lot easier. The Aficio1105 high volume copier/printer can print 105 pages per minute and caters for copy/print requirements between six to 210 pages per minute.

The top speed of 205 pages per minute is achieved by linking two machines together with the optional copy connector kit. The unit only scans each document once, and then prints from memory, thus saving on wear and tear on the original.

On the subject of speed, Ricoh is also displaying its AficioAP3800C, which it claims is the world’s first 28 pages per minute colour laser printer. Incorporating a next generation high speed printing engine and controller, this printer not only boasts superior speed, but also provides better image quality, network support and finishing functions.

The AP3800C is conveniently sized for any type of office, thanks to a tandem drum print system in which four linearly positioned photoreceptors print each colour in succession.

Also on show are two copiers that offer fax, print and scan functions. As Tessa den Hartog, product manager at Ricoh’s European marketing Group explains: “The Aficio document management line provides top levels in time-efficient productivity. In addition, Ricoh’s QSU technology allows for an unrivalled short warm-up time of 15 seconds and a recovery time of only 10 seconds from sleep mode. This performance sets a new standard for this segment.”

When upgraded with a powerful fax module, the Aficio1022 and 1027 systems provide workgroups with efficient and economical faxing capabilities by offering a variety of speed enhancing features. These include a G3 modem running at 33.6 Kbps, combined with a transmission speed of only three seconds and a very short scanning speed of 0.8 seconds. The multi-port facility supports parallel operations by sending and receiving documents at the same time. If required, both systems can be upgraded with an ISDN/G4 modem offering maximum speed of 64 Kbps.

For those feeling especially creative the Aficio Color 6513 offers an edit option. The user-friendly full-colour LCD panel allows editing of any defined area of a scanned image, covering up to 500 areas and 20 groups per image, which provides users with a wide range of editing options.
