Storage specialist STME has scored another partnership, this time with Brocade Communications Systems as a Brocade Fabric Partner. The deal will see STME offer the Brocade SilkWorm family of fabric switches and software, as well as integration, consulting, training and support for the technology throughout the Middle East.

Brocade SilkWorm fabric switches provide the intelligent networking foundation for networking storage. The Brocade fabric switches enable users to connect servers with storage devices through a storage area network (SAN).

"STME’s alliance with Brocade and the addition of the Brocade intelligent platform for networking storage to STME’s product portfolio enable organisations in the Middle East to have a ‘one-stop shop’ for complete, integrated storage solutions,” said Trevor Hutson, STME’s general manager.

"We believe that the enterprise market in the Middle East is ready to take advantage of the great benefits that networked storage solutions can bring. Selecting the right partners is a vital element of our success, which is based on a wholly indirect route to market," said Jean Marie Mathiot, Brocade vice president of Europe, Middle East, and Africa.

"STME brings more than a decade of storage solutions leadership as well as a customer base that includes the region's banks, telecoms, and energy companies, which makes them an ideal channel through which Brocade can enter the Middle East market." Mathiot added.

STME has already deployed Brocade switch technology in SANs for Saudi Aramco, Click Vodafone and Mobinil.
