Software development and integration services firm, Silverline Technologies, is focusing its Gitex initiatives on e-business this year as it continues to view the Middle East as an important growth market.

Through a series of company and product presentations and demonstrations, the company will introduce its Enterprise Information Portal (EIP) and e-payment portfolio. Ashraf Zaki, president of Middle Eastern operations for Silverline, believes that, currently, e-payment solutions are of prime importance to the region as it looks to make e-commerce pay.

“This is the prime time to bring an e-payment solution to the Middle East market as many of the region’s businesses have tested and launched their web presences but now need to start making money out of them. To do this securely and effectively they need payment gateway technology,” he says.

Such a solution, he continues, can be found in Silverline’s product portfolio as its e-payment solution includes all the core elements, as well as components such as Internet banking solutions and smart cards services.

For the region’s companies that are yet to reach the payment gateway stage, Zaki and his team are pushing Silverline’s EIP solution. “EIP has the tools, methodology and components to enable businesses to get themselves on the web, whether their focus is on business-to-business e-commerce, business-to-consumer e-commerce or both,” says Zaki.

The company is also leveraging its longstanding relationship with the region as it looks to increase brand awareness and sign up new customers at the show. Since 1997 the company has run development out of the Egypt, something that, according to Zaki, gives the company “a head start in the Middle East market.”
