With the boom in the Middle East’s construction sector, the TEKLA Group, which supplies model-based software products to construction companies such as Al Habtoor Construction, Zamil Steel, Emirates Building Systems, and J. Ray McDermott, reported a 37.3 per cent growth from January to June, 2001.

The company’s most recent offering to the industry is the X product family, essentially Xsteel, the company’s application for modelling and detailing of steel structures.

“TEKLA’s positive growth outlook for 2001 reflects market demand for reliable, scalable model-based software that enables the Middle East’s construction sector to work more efficiently and profitably,” stated Paul McIver, manager for TEKLA Middle East. As part of the group’s efforts to create greater awareness about software products for the construction industry, McIver also announced the appointment of Debabrata Chakraborty as Tekla’s senior marketing executive for the region.
