Acer Computer (M.E.) Ltd. will showcase a variety of high-end, and small-and-medium-enterprise (SME) solutions at the Gulf Information Technology Exhibition (GITEX) 2001.

The company exhibition space has been redesigned this year into two distinctly branded areas called Mobile World and Solutions World to reflect its re-launched identity of a “softer, human-centric, and hi-touch organisation,” said Eric Tien, managing director, Acer Computer (ME) Ltd.

“Computing has become an integral part of everyday life, and at GITEX 2001, we will demonstrate how innovative technology plays a role in creating a better tomorrow. We will continue to provide building blocks and develop innovative devices, Internet appliances and e-business solutions, in addition to our core PC business,” he added.

Business visitors to Acer Solutions World will have access to SME solutions and some of the popular Vertical Market applications. SME solutions will demonstrate computing technologies that run SME applications based on hardware and software technologies from vendors like Intel, Microsoft, and Oracle. Vertical industry solutions will demonstrate the implementation of market-specific applications in industries, such as oil and gas, banking, and telecommunications.

Acer’s advanced solutions include mission-critical and manageability solutions. For data-critical applications in banks, hospitals, telecommunication companies, and other industries where information exchange is a continual process, Acer’s mission critical server solution with its advanced “fail-over” and “load-balancing” technologies will be demonstrated as the answer to ensure non-stop operation on server systems. Also featured will be Acer’s Intelligent Platform Manageability Interface (IPMI). The company will address mobility, connectivity and security issues at the exhibition.

Acer also sponsors the show’s Press Room this year. As the room has been Web-enabled, press reporters will be able to post the latest news online.
