Nicholson International (NI) has taken its specialised recruitment skills online with the launch of TheTalentOffice.com. The online initiative is a joint project between the human resources (HR) company and TECOM, which looks after Dubai Internet City, Dubai Media City and Dubai Ideas Oasis free zone.

The portal is aiming to generate an influx of skilled workers for the free zone tenants.
“By 2002, 3000 additional knowledge workers will be required for the free zone,” said Ben Fawcett, senior manager, Nicholson International, Middle East.

Job candidates are able to sign up for free, while tenants of the free zone are charged an annual subscription fee.

“We deal with both sides of the hiring process. Companies typically only want quality staff that can add value, whilst candidates need advice and direction in their career development,” said Graham Thomas, managing director, NI Middle East.

NI will offer companies the benefits of its expertise, screening all candidates and providing information on employment policies and retention of staff. As Julian Phillips, senior consultant at NI commented: “Our skill comes in evaluating the candidates not in finding them.”

The recruitment site will also include quirky features such as the ‘boss alert’, which allows users to hide their CV quickly without losing any of their work.

The company also enlisted the technical expertise of HP and Interactive Limited in the development of the site.
