Almasa Distribution is reporting strong sales of Maxtor storage products over the last quarter. Sales of Maxtor brand internal and external drives, and network appliances increased by 40%. Almasa will be hosting Maxtor’s corporate sales team at this year’s Gitex.

“We are delighted to see such demand and increased market share for Maxtor branded products.” commented Parvez Ahmad, sales and marketing director, Almasa Distribution. “The continued growth may be attributed to our long standing relationship with Maxtor and joint efforts to raise market awareness, and educate the channel on the expansive range of high-quality products, service and support available from Maxtor.”

The extension of Almasa’s distribution network, with the opening of new offices in Saudi and Egyptian markets earlier this year have contributed to the spectacular growth reported specifically in these countries, said Ahmad.

Maxtor only entered the Middle East market two years ago, so the results were very welcome, according to Didier Trassaert, Maxtor's vice president, EMEA. “Reliable computer storage, that is manageable, interoperable and easy-to-use is the key area where Maxtor sees huge global growth, a market that is doubling every 15 months.”
