Imaginet Software has unveiled the first Arabic support and software development kit for Microsoft Windows CE to help Arab users more efficiently use their pocket PCs.

“By Arabising applications for Windows CE we have opened the gate for pocket PC users to make use of all computer functions, whether through handwriting identification, Internet browsing or e-mailing,“ says Dr. Hazem Abd El-Azeem, CEO of Imaginet Software.

El-Azeem believes that the lack of Arabisation has been the key factor in holding back the distribution of wireless electronic information in the region. “This technology was not a big success in the Arab Region due to the difficulty of handling this technology in Arabic,” he says.

However, by adding the new applications in Arabic MS Windows CE, he hopes that it will be possible to develop sites rich in Arabic information as well as an interface that is better suited browsing Arabic content on pocket computers.
