Now International has come up with a novel way of marketing its latest software as it claims that users can catch cat burglars red handed with its WebEye Alert offering.

UK company, Now International, has come up with a novel way of marketing its latest software as it claims that users can now catch cat burglars red handed with its WebEye Alert offering.

The software connects your run-of-the-mill web cam with mobile devices and, if the camera detects movement back at the ranch, video images are streamed to your Palm Pilot, allowing you to raise the alarm.

The software can be loaded onto any PC connected to one or more windows compatible USB cameras or CCTV system while several cameras can be monitored from a single web site.

A running log can be kept on WebEye’s Internet database so that suspicious frames can be rewound, saved, and sent to a third party to investigate. Quite what happens if the web cam itself is taken is unclear...
