Microtech will launch its latest enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution, for medium to large operations, during Gitex 2001.

Under the Microtech Infinity ERP umbrella, it includes business planning, production planning, master production scheduling, material requirement planning, capacity requirement planning applications and an execution system for capacity and priority.

The company is targeting the consumer goods, textiles and clothing, wood, automotive, banking and insurance industries, amongst others as it aims to deliver reduced risk and complexity while delivering the highest degree of efficiency and productivity for its customers.

In addition to its Infinity offering, the company will reveal its CATS (Corporate Activity Tracking System) — a platform designed to maximise intangible assets and enhance intangible asset visibility throughout the enterprise.

Although the product is newly developed, it taps into well-known management areas and provides the foundation for a series of management tools, both designed and applied by corporations according to requirements.

Through CATS, the company claims, both management and operations will benefit from rapid collection of critical information, project tracking & collaboration, e-mail supported workflow for business rules, and leverage of relationships with customers, vendors and partners.

It will also provide a repository of information regarding customers, contacts, employees, project information, and a collaborative framework for managing projects.

The CATS system can also monitor and provide budget, actual time, expenses, issues and activities key to the success of any project or an on-going business procedure. The software also helps organisations to accelerate the pace of change in order to meet market demands.
