Computer Associates Middle East (CA-ME), will be highlighting its four e-business management solutions - Unicenter infrastructure management solutions, eTrust security solutions, BrightStor storage solutions, and Jasmine e-business solutions - at Gitex 2001.

"Computer Associates has introduced four new brands to its e-business management solutions portfolio to provide Middle East organisations with increased levels of security, reliability, availability, and performance.

At Gitex 2001, our experts will be demonstrating the importance of these sound IT infrastructure investment solutions and their impact on organisations in the region," says AbdulAziz Al-Salloum, managing director of CA Middle East.

The Unicenter solution is CA's family of integrated infrastructure management offerings, which are designed to ensure the health and performance of all aspects of an e-business infrastructure, including the systems, networks, databases, web resources, applications, and end-user devices.

Through the use of a flexible and enhanced architecture and leading-edge technology such as advanced intelligence and visualisation, Unicenter delivers Internet-calibre scalability and administration in a modular, easy-to-use design that is intended to grow with a business’ needs across an increasingly heterogeneous infrastructure.

CA's BrightStor has been created to manage e-business storage by providing scalable, high-performance backup and recovery combined with storage area network (SAN) management, storage resource optimisation, and an integrated storage operations portal. The company claims that, with BrightStor, organisations are able to manage storage hardware and labour costs, thereby lowering Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).

The company's Jasmine offering encompasses all of CA's information management solutions, including e-business transformation and integration, portal and knowledge management, and predictive analysis and visualisation, while eTrust solves enterprise security problems.

eTrust offers the comprehensive security capabilities needed to proactively secure a business’ IT environment, including web access control, PKI, centralised user administration, platform server access controls, VPN, malicious code and antivirus protection, intrusion detection, integrated directories, and complete mainframe protection. This family of products can be implemented individually or as a solution set.

CA-ME's revamped stand will also host some of its regional partners, with four specific e-business corners to showcase the company's four e-business offerings.

Visitors will receive live product demonstrations, as well as one-to-one consultations on how CA can improve the performance and profitability of their organisations. In addition, CA Middle East will be conducting free customer education seminars, focused on security, storage, and e-business.

"By participating in Gitex 2001, Computer Associates Middle East is able to get close to its customers and share with them the true potential of their IT operations, through increased efficiencies introduced with the use of CA's suite of e-business management solutions," says Dan van der Westhuizen, Computer Associates' senior VP for Africa and Middle East.
