During Gitex 2001, 3Com will demonstrate its next generation technologies that aim to deliver radically simple and reliable connectivity solutions for businesses of all sizes. Highlights will include the company’s wireless, switching, LAN and Internet solutions.

“We’ve had a really good year with our wireless and IP telephony solutions,” says Colin Summers, general manager, 3Com Middle East & Africa.

“Business has also been good on the Gigabit Ehternet... we did your biggest quarter yet for switching and we’re keen to keep the momentum going,” Summers adds.

At the forefront will be 3Com’s Etisalat approved LAN Tele-phony products such as the 3Com NBX LAN Telephony system. The communication technology delivers integrated, simultaneous voice and data over networks for companies as well as offering benefits above and beyond those provided by traditional PBX (Private Branch Exchange) offerings. These include call handling, computer telephony integration, unified messaging and network connections.

On the wireless side, the company will display solutions for both the enterprises and SoHo markets as its demonstrates its Wireless Bluetooth PC Card that allows mobile users to instantly share information among Bluetooth-enabled personal devices including notebooks, desktop PCs, cell phones and handhelds.

3Com will also showcase its latest portfolio of switches and network management products, such as the SuperStack 3 Switch 4400 and SuperStack 3 Switch 4900 Gigabit Ethernet family, which increases the bandwidth on the network by tenfold and can reduce network bottlenecks.
