Banque Audi teams up with Cisco

Banque Audi sal, the largest bank network in Lebanon, has announced the implementation of a complete IP Telephony solution from Cisco Systems, a leader in networking for the Internet.

Banque Audi sal, the largest bank network in Lebanon, has announced the implementation of a complete IP Telephony solution from Cisco Systems, a leader in networking for the Internet.

As a result of the agreement, the bank’s internal voice and data communications infrastructure has been unified using IP Telephony technology. This will permit Banque Audi to deploy intelligent applications over its network, enabling clients to communicate with the bank by e-mail, fax, telephone or the Web.

“In the banking world, the fax is still very important. It is a secure and convenient way for our customers to send us instructions on a legally valid document. In the old world in traditional banks, faxes are received centrally and distributed. With a converged voice/data network with the unified inbox, all of our staff will receive exactly what they need to receive, directly to their desktops. This has enormous productivity benefits for the bank, and makes us more responsive to our customers,” said Gaby Kassis, Deputy General Manager of Banque Audi.

“Another significant benefit of the new converged network we have implemented is that as new features become available, they can be added by simply updating the software,” said Naoum Moukarzel, Banque Audi’s IT Manager. “In the future, our staff could browse a Web-based telephone directory, or check financial or customer information, directly from their IP Telephone handset,” he added.

The Bank plans to include more extensive online customer contact facilities in the future allowing customers to access services online with the opportunity to contact a customer service representative.
