MMI Logistics is enhancing its capability to deliver sophisticated supply chain management solutions, with an upgrade to its Exceed warehouse management system (WMS).

The migration to version 3.x, running on Microsoft’s SQL 7.0 Server positions the logistics operation to surpass the needs of its customers, said Mike Lee, manager of MMI Logistics.

Exceed 3.x also enables greater ‘innovation’ when deploying supply chain solutions for customers, Lee added.

“One of the key successes of this upgrade has been the move away from relying on external support for developing reports. With the active support of the entire team, a number of reports have already been developed internally, reducing the lead-time for implementation, which in turn can only benefit our clients,” commented Lee.

As part of the upgrade project, MMI Logistics also deployed a four-way Compaq ProLiant 8000 server. The Compaq hardware will also be used to support a Citrix server.

“This will enable our clients to effortlessly access the WMS, either through the Internet or from a dial-up connection," Lee explained.
