Yemen’s terrestrial network has been greatly expanded, with thousands of new lines installed during the last month.

22,000 fixed lines were installed in Sana’a general secretariat over the last four weeks, according to Ismael Al-Aawmi, general manager of the Public Telecommunications Corporation.

“This comes along a couple of ambitious steps to make a big progress in the level of telecommunications,” he said.

“Work is going on to expand the switched in some of the city’s avenues. This expansion coincides with the important steps to ease subscription procedures through opening new offices that offer subscribers the service.”
