Kofax Technology has collaborated closely with Fujitsu for is new fi-4990C high-speed, colour production scanner. The fi-4990C is Fujitsu’s first full colour scanner suitable for professional production environments, and makes use of a number of technologies developed by Kofax.

The new fi-4990C scanner from Fujitsu offers high-speed color, grayscale, and monochrome scan rates of up to 90 pages-per-minute (ppm) or 180 images-per-minute (ipm) at 200 dpi, plus an industry-leading 1,000-page automatic document feeder (ADF) with infrared document double-feed detection and paper thickness adjustment. The scanner also includes Kofax VRS technology, which automatically straightens, crops, and optimises exposure for black and white images; and Adrenaline 650i host image processing engine for advanced colour image handling.

“As more applications require high-end colour document imaging solutions, we are delighted to see support from Kofax, the industry’s developer of application software and image processing products,” said Lars Bogvad Jeppesen, managing director of Valuevad, regional distributors for Kofax and Fujitsu in the Middle East.
