Accton Technology Corporation has announced the launch of the new Wildfire Internet Appliances. The new range is aimed at the small-to-medium business customer, to provide cost effective devices to manage Internet access, email, and knowledge management at the workgroup level.

The Wildfire provides shared access to a single ISP connection, though dial-up, ISDN, leased line or broadband connection. E-mail applications are also included, as is a packet filtering firewall for security. By the addition of an IEEE802.11b wireless adapter, the Wildfire can be turned into a wireless LAN access point.

With Wildfire, this is exactly what we deliver” say Mohammad Merajul Hoda, business development manager of Accton’s Middle East Operation in Dubai “Wildfire provides the key elements that our customers need to leverage the Internet and its associated applications that will enhance their competitiveness.”

Wildfire will cost just under $1000, with a limited lifetime warranty.
