Compaq Computer Middle East will be participating in ECOMGO 2001, a forum bringing together e-commerce solution providers with players in the oil and gas industry. The forum will take place from 9-11 June in the Abu Dhabi Hilton.

The conference will discuss how eProcurement solutions can streamline the supply chain, reduce costs and enhance performance, productivity and capital efficiency in the energy sector.

“Organisations spend a significant portion of revenues on non-production goods and services,” said Samer Karawi, enterprise solutions manager, Compaq Gulf & Levant. “These purchases are often sub-optimised due to contract leakage, lack of supplier leveraging, and maverick spending outside company processes,” he added.

“By taking control of purchasing, companies can expect to reduce their non-production expenses by 20%,” said Mike Cullinan, major accounts manager at Compaq Gulf and Levant. “Compaq will discuss this in more detail and will share with participants some market figures and its own experience in this area,” he said.
