RSA Security, developer of encryption and public key solutions, has appointed Paramount Computer Systems as a Middle East distributor partner for its suite of security products. The move comes as the company seeks to increase its presence on the ground in the region as e-business takes off.

Initially PCS will address demand for RSA SecurID, a two-factor authentication solution that uses PIN numbers and authentication devices. PCS has already installed a solutions laboratory for RSA products in its Dubai office, and a full Authorised Training Centre will be implemented once the company has moved to DIC. Encryption and PKI solutions are also expected to become more widely deployed.
“The appointment bodes well for existing and new customers as PCS has particularly strong technical skills with years of experience in security technologies,” said Miles Rippon, regional director southern & eastern EMEA at RSA Security.

Harish Kunnath, managing director at PCS, says: “The Internet offers tremendous new business opportunities but it also brings many serious security challenges. A segregated approach to network security is no longer enough. The best-of-breed solutions that PCS has to offer will help provide comprehensive, effective protection against multi-pronged network attacks.

“Through our strategic partnerships with some of the foremost security technology providers, we are the company of choice for a broad area of business both in government and corporate sectors. The inclusion of RSA Security’s solutions adds immense value to our already powerful portfolio.
