ARAMEX profits jump

Year 2000 revenues and profits jumped up at ARAMEX International, a provider of transportation services in the Middle East and Indian sub-continent.

ARAMEX International Limited, a provider of transportation services in the Middle East and sub-continent, saw company profits jump 15% in 2000.

Total revenues grew from US $95.1 million in 1999 to US $106.5 million last year. Net income rose from US $4.2 million to US $4.9 million.

“2000 was a very successful year for us,” said Fadi Ghandour, president and CEO, ARAMEX International. “We have taken full advantage of this year’s conference to make everyone in the network fully aware of our achievements and to ensure that we continue to create innovative solutions for our clients.”

During the year 2000, ARAMEX announced plans to launch AREGON, a business to business portal covering the Middle East and Indian Sub-continent. Internally, the company said that it installed customer relationship management software in an effort to boost customer service.

Year 2000 annual results were announced at the company’s 17th annual conference, held in Aqaba, Jordan. Several topics were discussed, including the future direction of ARAMEX’s mail order catalogue service and the company’s marketing plans for 2001.
