Sun has completed its acquisition of LSC Incorporated in a move, which will boost Sun’s open storage network capabilities. LSC specialises in high performance file systems and data storage software.

The stock-for-stock deal was completed on 2nd May, and LSC will become part of Sun’s Network Storage organisation.

“The LCS acquisition, combined with the recent HighGround Systems acquisition, reinforces Sun’s position in open storage management software,” said Johann Muller, product manager, Sun Microsystems, Middle East & Africa.

“In today’s 24x7 virtual market place, storage solutions must enable customers to adapt on the fly, without compromising reliability. Middle East companies now consider storage to be a key part of their business strategies. With constantly changing and dynamic storage needs considered the norm,” commented Muller. “Consequently we are seeing very positive growth in the storage area in the region.
