By  David Ingham Published  May 15, 2001, a UAE-based portal aimed at the marine industry, has undergone a redesign that’s seen the addition of several new features.

The main new addition is the Marine52 Inventory Locator Exchange (MILE). MILE is a search engine for locating marine equipment and parts anywhere worldwide.

Marine professionals can register to use the service for free and add products from their stock to the MILE database. CEO Murtaza Rasheed says the service will help suppliers looking to move dead or older stock.

Another new addition is the Procurement Marketplace, which allows users to interact with suppliers and clients, potentially increasing their supplier and customer bases.

“Our goal is to connect the industry worldwide and make the site a daily choice for the procurement of marine equipment,” says Rasheed.

The site also includes industry news collated from around the Web, links to useful resources and information on industry exhibitions and conferences.
