Regional distributor, Aptec, has beaten expectations for its first quarter results, with an annual pace of 37% compared to the same period last year.

All branches of Aptec reported a revenue and profit increase, with the Egyptian and Lebanese offices showing a vast improvement over last year.

“Generally speaking, amid the world-wide slowing trend in the IT industry this quarter, Aptec revenues and profit growth in the first quarter are most remarkable,” said Essam Baghdady, VP, Aptec.

According to Aptec Gulf’s regional manager, Bahaa Salah, the growth in the Gulf is attributed to the newly introduced Value Added Distribution (VAD) concept.

“Customer care through a host of services and activities reflected positively on our figures,” said Salah.
