International hotel chain, Starwood, has officially opened its luxury five-star property in the Jordanian capital, Amman. The launch is part of an array of activities being set to go by Starwood.

“This property in Amman makes Starwood the only chain with a hotel in every major city and commercial centre in the Middle East,” said Sami Zoghbi, president Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide Inc. Africa, India and Middle East. “It’s something our competition simply can’t match,” he added.

And while the Sheraton in Amman completes the set of hotels on Starwood’s Monopoly board, it has other projects up its sleeve. More locally, the Sheraton Jumeirah Beach Resort and Towers in Dubai is adding another 205 rooms to cope with customer demand.

Yemen has witnessed the opening of the Sheraton Gold Mohur Hotel and Resort in Aden and ‘Six Sigma’ is a new $10 million initiative by the company that will involve improvements to Starwood’s customer services.
