Delta Air Lines will introduce flights to New York’s JFK airport from Dubai International in June this year.

Delta describes the flight as ‘direct’, although sources at this week’s Arabian Travel Market suggest that it won’t be ‘nonstop’ They say the flight will probably stop briefly in Cairo for refueling.

The service will start on Monday, June 18, 2001, and will operate on Monday, Thursday and Saturday.

Delta will become the first American carrier to operate flights from the UAE. Dubai’s Sharaf Travel will handle sales operations for Delta locally.
