Management of employees Internet usage can cause problems for many companies, as they try to balance providing reasonable access for work purposes with the need to restrict time wasting web surfing and visits to inappropriate sites. But software from Websense, now available in the region through GulfNet Solutions, can help restrict Internet usage to more appropriate task.

Saudi-based GulfNet has been appointed as distributor for Websense in the Kingdom, the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait and Egypt. The Websense Enterprise Software product range was introduced by GulfNet at the recent Arab e-Banking & Security Summit held in Dubai last week.

“We are very excited about this partnership with Websense,” said Mudar Besiso, general manager of GulfNet Solutions. “Websense is the worldwide leader in employee management solutions and most of the enterprise companies worldwide use the Websense Enterprise software to control Internet usage.”

Websense’ Employee Internet Management software, manages, monitors and reports on employee Internet use. This can help efforts to improve employee productivity, conserve network bandwidth and mitigate legal liability, all of which are under pressure from needless web browsing. Founded in 1994, Websense is now in use with 239 Fortune 500 companies, 40 of the Nikkei 225 and over 30 of the FTSE 100, watching over a total of some 6.6 million employees worldwide.
