National Bank of Dubai has opened what it describes as a fully automated branch today at Dubai's new Grand Cineplex, Cinema and Retail Development.

The branch is centred around a touch screen-based Customer Interactive Terminal that allows customers to access a wide range of banking services including an cash withdrawal, telephone banking and Internet banking. The terminal also provides a secure email message system to the bank, and a depository service for completed application forms.

“Our aim in developing the fully automated branch and Customer Interactive Terminals is to provide our customers and the general public with an easy and convenient way of banking with NBD. Customers have access to all the information they require on the Bank’s products and services and can choose how they wish to bank with us,” said Abdullah Mohammed Saleh, NBD managing director.

Virtually all normal banking services are available at the Customer Interactive Terminal. Customers can apply to open an account at the NBD Cineplex branch and decide what branch they want to deal with. Opening an NBD bank account (Current, Savings, Abeer and Ajial) or applying for a credit card can be done in a matter of minutes at the touch of a screen with the Customer Interactive Terminal (CIT). In addition CIT’s provide customers with access to National Bank online, allows them to view and print their accounts and credit card statements, transfer money or make one-off or Mandated Bill payments to Etisalat, DEWA and NBD credit cards.

Even though the automated Branch and its CIT’s are extremely user-friendly, detailed leaflets are available to assist users in locating the exact information they require. NBD staff will be in attendance during peak hours to explain and promote usage of the Bank’s on-line facilities.
