STME has won a $1 million contract with Batelco to deploy an enterprise wide storage solution. The storage investment will allow Batelco to store, manage and protect its critical call usage and customer billing data for its fixed telephone and fax lines, GSM and Internet services.

Analysis of customer data and information is one of Batelco’s key strategies in determining demand for current and new services.

“As one of the fastest-growing telcos and ISP’s in the Middle East, Batelco’s data is growing exponentially every few months. Our billing and customer information is our lifeline to our end-users, and Batelco’s staff must have 24 x 7 access to this mission-critical data. We needed a storage solution that could scale up as our business expands, and STME was the ideal choice in terms of performance, reliability and service,” said a spokesperson.

At the core of the new Batelco storage solution is hardware provided by EMC, a partner of STME. The upgrade builds upon existing EMC solutions previously implemented by STME.

“With this new storage strategy, Batelco is increasing its ability to understand and meet customers’ needs by protecting its customer usage and billing data,” commented Andrew Calthorpe, Sales Director of STME.
