A new pen tablet system, WACOM PL-500 LCD-tablet, has been presented into the Middle Eastern markets recently through GraphiTech, graphics solutions provider. The system combines an active matrix LCD display with the control of a graphics tablet and pressure sensitive pen. This combination is said to provide the benefits of a direct pen-on-screen input, an interface for the paperless office and an interactive graphical device.

"The PL-500 LCD-tablet will ensure higher productivity levels in the office environment," said Mr. Abed, GraphiTech product manager. "The advanced graphical interaction technology with the PC will allow computer-based working environments in the Middle East to conduct business in a faster, easier and more efficient manner."

Advantages of the WACOM PL-500 LCD-tablet are thought to be accuracy over touch screen systems, intuitive interaction with the PC and seamless interaction with all available standard software applications with no need of modification or customisation processes.

"With the rapid deployment of IT applications and the Internet's explosive penetration in the Middle East, the graphics industry is witnessing a remarkable growth,” said Abed. “Thus the availability of reliable, easy-to-use, affordable graphical interaction solutions is essential for businesses to succeed," he added.
