Reuters takes to Dubai Media City

150 year old global news service says infrastructure of DMC will give it the elbow room it needs to expand its business in the Gulf region

Global information, news, and technology group, Reuters, will make Dubai Media City (DMC) its Gulf Headquarters it was announced today.

The company says it will have 70 staff based at DMC, and take an entire floor of one of the first phase buildings.

“The decision to move our operations to Dubai Media City was a strategic one,” said Michael Kuli, Middle East managing director for Reuters. “Reuters is at the heart of the media, the Internet and technology, and out presence at Dubai Media City will contribute to the increased sharing of information with other media and technology companies. The provision of scalability on the City lays the foundation for possible future expansion.”

“The business operations of Reuters epitomises the ideals of Dubai Media City in its visionary drive paving the way to an information-based economy,” said Mohammed Al Gergawi, chairman of Dubai Media City.

The Dubai Media City head office will run Reuters operations in Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, Jeddah, Al-Khobar, Kuwait, Manama, Doha and Muscat.
