Legal e-commerce seminar comes to Dubai

Lawyers, finance directors and Web masters have been invited to descend on Dubai from 19-20 February for a major conference on the legal aspects of international e-commerce. The international conference will be held at Le Meridien hotel by UK training company, Hawksmere, in association with UAE advocates and legal consultants, Al Tamimi & Company.

Focusing on the latest developments from Europe the US and the Middle East the two-day seminar aims to help business leaders and legal advisers stay abreast of the legal background and potential liabilities when conducting business online. It is widely recognised that e-commerce is presenting vast and exciting opportunities around the world but the legal background is complex and fraught with risk.

The conference begins on the first day with an overview of the legal framework of doing business over the Internet before looking at contracting online from the different perspectives of Europe the US and the UAE. The first day will finish by touching on security issues before the second day starts with liability online and ends with disputes and their settlements.

Speakers at the seminar will come from all over Europe, the US and the Middle East, whoose representatives will be Essam Al Tamimi and Gerard Hobby of Al Tamimi & Company and Dervish Tayyip, corporate attorney for Microsoft Middle East and Africa. It will be open to lawyers and anyone involved in the development of business online at a cost of AED 5,500.
