Microsoft will brief Middle East business managers on how it thinks the world should be dot.commed at major conference in Abu Dhabi this week. Microsoft EMEA Dotcom group manager Lorenzo Pengo will talk about Microsoft's digital architecture and the future of the Internet.

The Middle East e-Business and IT Conference will be held in Abu Dhabi on Feb 12 and 13.

“Online capabilities have evolutionized the way in which people do business globally and businesses in the Emirates are seeing an increasing move to electronic commerce,” says Pengo.

“As regional Internet penetration increases, business operations will also move online, creating new business processes, and companies that start learning in this new environment today will be leaders in the future. Microsoft’s vision for the next generation Internet is to facilitate computing anytime, anyplace and on any device. We look forward to working with institutions like ADCCI in taking traditional businesses to new economic strengths by harnessing the potential of the Internet.”

At the conference, Pengo will outline Microsoft’s vision and approach for e-commerce initiatives in the region and will drill down to Microsoft’s end-to-end platform offerings for the new regional digital economy.

The conference is expected to be attended by high level ministers and delegates from the Middle East region who will share experiences on the demands on e-commerce, the impact of wireless technology on business, the opportunities and challenges in using e-business processes in the industry, strategies for making the best use of the e-marketplace and other related topics.
