Subscribers to Bahrain Telecommunications Company’s Internet service will be able to get hold of an Acer PC at an affordable cost, thanks to an agreement with Computer World WLL, Acer Middle East’s Bahraini Partner.

Under the deal, subscribers will be able to get an Acer Aspire 6600, Acer’s home PC, and pay for it in instalments as part of their normal Batelco phone bill. It is hoped that the deal will increase Internet usage and PC literacy in Bahrain.

“Computer World is very pleased to partner with Batelco in encouraging Internet usage in Bahrain,” said Adel Al-Safar, CEO of Computer World. “There are additional benefits in the deal that include 10 hours free Internet usage per month, waiver of the monthly Internet subscription fee, free basic training, warranty during the instalment period and flexibility in payment,” he added.

The Acer Aspire 6600 that is on offer is a multimedia machine featuring Intel Pentium III processor, 128MB SDRAM, 10GB hard drive and an onboard 56kb fax modem. PCs are available on approval of subscription to Batelco’s Internet service.
