Dubai’s first digital-only image processing centre opened today with the launch of Image Digital Photo Services.

The facility is designed to give professional photographers, communications companies and keen amateurs alike access to advanced digital image processing technologies.

“We have brought new access to an incredible range of digital image processing and output capabilities, from simple colour lab operations through to creating totally new types of image on a huge range of media,” said IDPS’ partner, Ollivier Pringalle.

IDPS gives customers the ability to process, manipulate and output any kind of image, whether it started life as an APS or 35mm format camera film or as a series of digital shots stored on a CD.

Highly advanced film processing, 6-colour multi-format printing and lamination capabilities mean that photographs and other images can be scanned, combined, blown up and output to over 60 types of media, from traditional photographic prints through to banners of virtually infinite size in paper, plastics, transparent ‘back-lit’ advertising media or self adhesive papers and films.

“This first Kodak Pro-Photo facility in the Middle East brings a huge range of capabilities for professional photographers and communications companies,” said Ziad Nassif, managing director of Kodak Middle East. “By using the most advanced image processing technologies, combined with a highly professional team, IDPS is able to extend the capabilities of photography and imaging as we know it today.”
