Cisco to reward top sales people

Resellers can earn brand new cars, watches, holidays and other impressive items in the Cisco Rewards programme, running in the Middle East as of right now. Resellers collect points towards prizes, the more they sell.

Cisco is giving Audi TTs away to its best resellers, as part of an ongoing drive to pull more sales through two-tier distribution.

According to Vanessa Wilson, Cisco’s SMB channel development manager for EMEA, the ‘Cisco Rewards’ programme is designed to “reach out and touch, and build a better community with two-tier resellers who typically do not have a contract with Cisco, but purchase on an ad hoc basis.”

For now, resellers will collect points for products that they sell—with points being allocated to products based on their value—and they can trade in those points for a variety of items, including Breitling watches, nights at the Burj Al Arab hotel, and many others.

14.5 million points gets you a TT, so you’ll have to work at it, but a look at the points/product break down shows some routers with a value of 4000 points on their own.

Later, Wilson says Cisco may add additional points to training courses taken, following a model which has worked well for Cisco in Europe.
