Ajmal Perfumes goes global

Ajmal Perfumes was receiving a growing number of enquiries about its oriental fragrances from around the world. So it hired Comtrust to set up an e-commerce site that lets it sell its wares to customers all over the globe.

Ajmal Perfumes was receiving a growing number of enquiries about its oriental fragrances from around the world. So it hired Comtrust to set up an e-commerce site that lets it sell its wares to customers all over the globe.

Oriental perfumery entered the e-business age this week when The House of Ajmal began to offer its fragrances for sale online. Ajmal has outsourced the work of taking its wares onto the Web to Comtrust, Etisalat's e-commerce services division.

Visitors to ajmalperfume.com can order by credit card online using Comtrust's e-commerce payment gateway. Delivery is carried out worldwide by Aramex, the international courier company.

The company says it's adding a transactional capability to its site because of the increasing number of enquiries the company receives from around the world.

"We can now service these markets more effectively, not having to rely on non Internet-based transaction mechanisms, such as wire transfers and cash-on-delivery," says Nazir Ajmal, marketing director, Ajmal Perfumes.

Besides a payment mechanism, the new e-store offers a beauty tips section, new products section and a product search engine. There's also business information for prospective dealers and business partners.
