Compaq Computer Middle East, Mediterranean & Africa (MEMA) is now offering a mirror image of its corporate Web site in Arabic.

The site, http://www.mideast.compaq.com, offers customers, partners and resellers instant access to the latest local information from Compaq in the Middle East. The move marks a change in focus for Compaq towards reaching the broadest audience possible in the Middle East.

"As the region's acceptance of the internet broadens, more and more of the content will be developed for the Arab market, in the local language. Compaq wants to meet the needs of the Middle East market and encourage the further development of the internet through easy access and information." said Karen Bell-Wright, marketing manager, eCommerce & CRM of Compaq Computer MEMA.

"This is another major step forward in Compaq MEMA's regional Internet presence,” said Bell-Wright. "It is a non-stop, one-stop shop for customers and resellers to find out about local news, events schedules, success stories, how to contact Compaq and where to buy Compaq's market leading products. In this region, Compaq strongly believes that the fast-growth Internet platform for the future in the Middle East is in the Arabic language."
