Toshiba Computer Systems will unveil a portfolio of “Always Connected” mobile computing solutions at Gitex this year.

The range of notebooks and palm devices have been tailored to meet specific mobile challenges, and moves the company’s range beyond a “one size fits all mentality.”

“Our global initiatives are designed to change the way businesses and people work, leading the way to a wireless future,” said Wu Tengguo, deputy GM, Computer Systems Division of Toshiba. “We have taken Toshiba’s core dominance – mobility products – and added solutions to them so customers always stay connected.”

Wireless technology is central to Toshiba’s new product set. At Gitex, the company will be demonstrating wireless solutions based on Bluetooth, wireless LAN and GSM connectivity.

Being one of nine promoter companies along with 3Com, Ericsson, IBM, Intel, Lucent, Microsoft, Motorola and Nokia, Toshiba has been most active over the last year in driving the development of Bluetooth.
“Whether it’s style, portability, connectivity, performance, graphics, quality or value, Toshiba continues to raise the bar at each and every category,” said Tengguo.

Toshiba will move beyond theory with a raft of product introductions. In the desktop replacement category, visitors will be shown the Toshiba Tecra 8100. If portability is more important, check out the ultra-thin Portégé series. If you are operating on a tight budget, Toshiba recommends the Satellite Pro Series.
