Cisco Systems will run a training road-show focused on helping stimulate the migration of small and medium businesses (SMB) to Internet and "wired business" technologies.

This free expanded and enlarged one-day training seminar for networking resellers will take place during October, in six cities in Egypt, the Gulf and Pakistan. See eCRN’s Training Diary, this issue, for specifics.

New to the SMB Reseller Training Roadshow is a preview of the Cisco Aironet range of wireless products, which Cisco says are particularly useful in warehouse, retail and non-fixed installations such as temporary site offices.

The point of the road shows, according to Cisco, is to educate small to medium-sized businesses on how to implement solutions to network their businesses and begin using productivity tools such as e-mail.

Cisco will train its resellers to help SMBs migrate from low-performance PC/modem configurations with limited capabilities to complete network solutions with fast, secure Internet access and high speed, reliable switched networks.

Resellers wishing to find more information or register online can do so at www.cisco.com/middle_east/smb

"Feedback we have received from our partners is that increasing numbers of SMB owners are willing to pay extra for Internet and networking equipment that can give their businesses a solid platform to start their transformation into 'e-businesses'," said Roger Levenhagen, channel manager at Cisco Systems Middle East.

"We want to give our resellers a thorough grounding in the technologies and products available, to allow them to recommend the most appropriate solution to their customers."
