Tejari.com signs up first government partner

The Dubai Development Board has signed an agreement to conduct tendering and purchasing business through the Tejari.com portal.

Tejari.com, the UAE government’s trading portal, has signed up its first government department customer.

The Dubai Development Board has announced that it will conduct its tendering and purchasing through the portal, which will eventually handle all Dubai Government business.

Our objective is to maximise our human resources and technological tools for the sake of providing the UAE citizen with the best services possible,” said Ahmed Thani Al-Matrooshi, managing director of the Dubai Development Board. “Tejari.com will provide us with a secure online platform that will enable us to present our tenders in a manner that will save us time, effort and money.”

The development board manages housing projects for UAE citizens and landlords. It will use Tejari.com to access global markets for contracting and other services.

Sheikha Lubna Al-Qasimi, managing director of Tejari.com commented: “I am very pleased that Tejari.com will play a role in better servicing UAE citizens through the pioneering efforts of the Dubai Development Board. This deal represents the important role Tejari.com plays in connecting public and private businesses in the UAE with global markets.”
