Le Meridien hotels are planning to capitalize on the burgeoning success of the tourism industry in Dubai by expanding development on the east coast of the UAE.

With a new Le Meridien hotel set to open in Fujairah next summer, Russel Sharpe, senior vice-president, Middle East and West Asia, Le Meridien Hotels & Resorts, is looking forward to a successful venture as this year the UAE has enjoyed increased business over the summer months.

“Our hotels in the United Arab Emirates – in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Jumeira Beach – have recorded a 16% increase in business in the first quarter and we are finding that the previous summer slump is a thing of the past,” he said.

“While demand for Dubai is escalating, with the French, Austrian and German markets booming, we anticipate a similar response to a new sun, sea and sand product in Fujairah.”
