Management consultancy firm, Andersen Consulting, opened the doors of an additional Saudi Arabian office in Al Khobar, in an attempt to extend its business options in the country.

According to the company, organisations in the Saudi Arabian energy, financial and manufacturing sectors face an ideal time now to “prepare themselves to take advantage of the opportunities” of e-commerce and on-line global business.

“This is a particularly exciting time for the development of business in this country. We are at the threshold of the Internet revolution-every day more businesses in the Kingdom are going on-line, or looking for new ways to improve their competitiveness,” said Dr Sakka, who will head up the new Andersen Consulting office in Al Khobar.

New Electronic Economy

Maher Kaddoura, Andersen Consulting's Middle East general manager, added that, “Andersen Consulting has been helping organisations in Saudi Arabia … with strategies to take advantage of the new electronic economy”.

“Global trends such as mergers and acquisitions within oil companies, and the developing online energy commodity exchanges are changing the face of the energy sector,” said Paul Fockens, global managing partner for energy at Andersen Consulting.

“Andersen Consulting has a long track record in Saudi Arabia of helping companies in the oil and petrochemicals sector make their businesses more successful. It is now more important than ever to develop a strategy for the Global Internet and e-commerce.”
